The Casablanca Valley Print E-mail

West of Santiago, on the road to Valparaíso, is the Casablanca Valley.  A cool coastal climate makes this wine-growing region ideal for white wine.  Accordingly, the Casablanca Valley is known for its premium Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc wines, and recently the valley has started producing the first Pinot Noirs of Chile.  Wine production began in this region in the 1980s and as a result the wine facilities here have a very modern feel, and most have a gourmet restaurant pairing their signature wines with traditional Chilean cuisine.  The best way to experience the Casablanca Valley is to combine a vineyard tour with a tour of Vina del Mar, Valparaiso and the Pacific coast.  If you are interested in focusing on the wine, our tours of the valley include two vineyard visits with tastings as well as lunch in one of the vineyards.  The price depends on the day of the week, the number of people and which vineyards we visit.  Please contact us for a price quote.

The Maipo Valley Print E-mail

maipo_valleyThe Maipo Valley is the oldest wine-producing valley in Chile, and it lies just south of Santiago, extending from the foot of the Andes to the middle of the Central Valley.  This valley produces bold Cabernet Sauvignons that have garnered international recognition. Chile’s largest and more traditional wineries can be found here, but the region is also home to up-and-coming boutique wineries, many of which are owned by Chileans who have partnered with French, U.S. and Italian winemakers.  Our wine tours are private tours, customized to your needs.  We have bike and wine tours as well as wine tours by car.  All our wine tours are designed to let you better experience the true wine industry in Chile.  If you want we can visit the big international wine producers, but we prefer to visit the smaller boutique wineries off the tourist path to let you taste and experience the wine of those producers who are more interested in quality than quantity.  In fact one of our vineyards offers tours by the owner, exclusively for us.  For those who are wine connoisseurs, there is a critically claimed vineyard which produces only 7,000 bottles per year (please ask us about adding this vineyard to the tour).  The tours include a country-side lunch at a unique Chilean restaurant that has never had a tour bus on, or even near, its property.

prices are per person in US dollars (email us about single person tours).  The price includes private transport to and from your hotel, English-speaking guide, lunch, 2 vineyard visits and tastings (these are not sips of wine!), and a special gift to help you get a bottle or two home.

2 people: $150

3-5 people: $125

5+ people: $100
