I was taken on a private Human Rights Tour by Felipe Moreno on February 28, 2008.  I want to say that the tour was extraordinary, not only for the itinerary of sites and the history that each site bears, but for Felipe's knowledge, his ability to convey that knowledge in narrative form with much energy as he walks along, and for his friendliness and kindness.  Felipe is able to keep several threads of the history going at once, moving among them as relevant, and moreover is able to bring them all together at various points to describe how historical trends, events, and forces converged to create the circumstances that led to the military coup and its aftermath.  Felipe, for me, did all of this in English, and I was most grateful that he was able and willing to do so with such great clarity and grace.

I can't say enough good things about the tour and that day, as there is no doubt in my mind that it was and will always be one of the most memorable days of my life.  I have told many people about the tour and about Felipe, and I will continue to do so, now that I am back in the U.S.  Above all, Felipe strikes me as a healer, an unacknowledged healer, perhaps, of the country's wounds.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our tours.  Edmundo especially was an intelligent, gracious and informative host.  We finally paid by check, which we gave to Rosemary yesterday afternoon.  She also was terrific.  Please  let me know that you have received payment.

   And now that I have read your bio on the website, I can officially say that I am enormously jealous of your Chilean lifestyle!  We hiked in Patagonia  for eight days before coming to Santiago and while we were very despondent about the smoggy welcome and the endless traffic, we found much to admire in the city.  Public art for starters.  And Chile is a wonderful country.
